Today Audi released information about the creation of this gorgeous one-of-a-kind car. From working on a clay model to the finished product, a great deal of time and energy was put into this show car.
Frank Lamberty, a designer at Audi, describes the form-finding of the e-tron Spyder:
"We were constantly bouncing between two worlds like a ping-pong ball. On the one side was the elegant shape of speedboats. On the other was the radical world of naked bikes (motorcycles without full or partial fairings) or roadsters from the 1960s and 1970s. The Audi e-tron Spyder is the result of this inspiring convergence process and unites these two worlds."It took the design team five months to build the car. Three months before the Paris show, they started working on the clay model...
Six weeks before the show, management signed off on the final design and the designers went to work on the final product. With attention to detail and extreme precision, ten employees labored on the showpiece...
