I was browsing through different Audi forums today, and one common question that people have about Audi cars is: What is the cost of owning an Audi? There are various factors to consider if you’re thinking about purchasing an Audi including fuel, maintenance costs, car insurance, and registration fees. Generally speaking, though, the cost of owning an Audi may be a little more than your average vehicle, but it’s so worth it to be able to drive a quality car that drives so well, is it not?
My father once told me, “If you take care of your car, your car will take care of you.” As long as you keep up with regularly scheduled maintenance like oil changes and tune ups, you won’t have to worry too much about costly repair bills.
The majority of people in the Audi forums who haven’t had any problems said that staying on top of preventative maintenance is the key to reliability. Many Audi owners have been able to keep their cars way past 100K miles. It’s also been said that German cars are not as reliable as their Asian counterparts, but among all the German brands (i.e. Mercedes and BMW), Audi is the most reliable.
Ownership costs can differ greatly among Audi models. For instance, according to Automobile magazine, the cost of owning a 2010 Audi A3 is around £2,000 a year while the cost of a 2010 Audi A6 is around £4,000 a year. Keep in mind that Audis are performance cars, so we rely on them in all types of weather, which can take a toll on maintenance costs.
If the idea of purchasing an Audi excites you, knowing that you’re investing in a car that runs well and brings you joy every time you get behind the wheel, then does it really matter how much it will cost?
